Private label liquid collagen shots
Collagen is the most popular drinkable shot because its dose is measured in grams, more than fits comfortably in capsules. Vita Liquids develops and fills private label collagen shots and ampoules in Slovenia for brands across Europe. Production opens in 2027.

Choose a collagen source
| Source | Suits | Taste | Label and market notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bovine | Most beauty and joint shots; the widest choice of peptides | Mild and easy to flavour | Not vegetarian; check halal and kosher needs per market |
| Porcine | Cost-led ranges | Mild and easy to flavour | Rules out halal and kosher markets |
| Marine (fish) | Premium beauty lines and pescatarian buyers | Can taste of fish; needs a stronger flavour system | Fish is an allergen and must be emphasised in the ingredients list |
There is no vegan collagen. A vegan "collagen support" shot uses vitamin C and other nutrients that carry authorised claims instead.
Dose and formula
- Common doses are 2.5 g, 5 g and 10 g per serving. Higher doses make the shot thicker and stronger in taste, so dose and volume are chosen together.
- Beauty shots usually pair collagen with vitamin C, biotin, zinc or copper, which carry authorised claims, and often with hyaluronic acid.
- Joint and mobility shots often add vitamin C and vitamin D, plus ingredients such as MSM or glucosamine that carry no authorised claim.
- Branded collagen peptides can be used where you want the supplier’s study data for marketing, subject to the supplier’s licence terms.
- Flavour and sweetener systems are built per product: berry and citrus flavours mask collagen best, and sugar-free versions are possible.
What the label can say in the EU
| Nutrient | Authorised claim (wording abridged) |
|---|---|
| Vitamin C | contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin (also bones, cartilage, gums, teeth and blood vessels) |
| Biotin | contributes to the maintenance of normal hair; of normal skin |
| Zinc | contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, nails and skin |
| Copper | contributes to normal hair pigmentation and normal skin pigmentation |
| Collagen, hyaluronic acid | No authorised claim: they can be named as ingredients, but not linked to a benefit |
A claim may be used only when the nutrient is present at a significant amount: for a food supplement, at least 15% of the nutrient reference value in the daily dose. We check every label against the EU Register before print. Source:EU Register of nutrition and health claims.

Questions
Collagen shots: what brands ask
- How much collagen fits in one shot?
- Collagen peptides dissolve well, so up to about 10 g fits in a 25–60 ml shot. At the top of that range the shot is thicker and the taste stronger, which is why dose, volume and flavour are developed together.
- Which collagen source should I choose?
- Bovine is the most common and the easiest to flavour. Marine collagen suits premium beauty lines and pescatarian buyers, but fish is an allergen and the taste needs more masking. Porcine is the lowest-cost option but rules out halal and kosher markets.
- Can I say my collagen shot improves skin?
- Not for collagen itself: the EU has authorised no health claim for collagen. Skin, hair and nail claims come from vitamin C, biotin, zinc or copper in the formula, worded exactly as authorised.
- Is there vegan collagen?
- No. Collagen comes from animals or fish. A vegan alternative is a "collagen support" shot built on vitamin C and other nutrients with authorised claims.
- Do collagen shots need to be kept cold?
- A finished shot is made shelf-stable through its preservation route, proven by stability testing. Storage instructions and the best-before date on the label come from those results.
- Shots or ampoules?
- Shots (25–60 ml) suit higher doses and single-shot retail. Ampoules (10–25 ml) suit a premium beauty course sold in a box of 10 to 30.
- When can production start?
- The Vita Liquids line opens for production in 2027. You can reserve a slot now: we develop the formula and samples beforehand, so your first batch can run as soon as the line opens.
